The Cretan Traditional Museum, apart from the Cretan Folkloric Museum, has a second section, the Neoclassical Museum.

The second part of the complex is housed in a neoclassical Cretan building of the 20th century with rich decorations and reminders of an earlier era such as carved furniture, hanging lamps, woven fabrics, embroidery and photographs.

The visitor entering the ground floor of the building meets the rich collection of General Ioannis Alexakis: the general's garments, photographs, objects and history testify to the national wars. The permanent exhibition of the cultural heritage of the Lassithi Plateau on the floor of the museum features photographic documents and objects from the surrounding area.

Next to the neoclassical building, you can visit a school room shaped according to the educational standards of the last century. In this room, as in the courtyard of the building, there are constructions of various types of windmills, highlighting the folklore heritage of this place.
